Pride Catering are the only School contract caterer in the South of England to be awarded the Food for Life GOLD Catering Mark.
We are highly delighted to announce this achievement for our appealing menus at St Stephen's C of E Junior School in Twickenham. TV personality Fern Britton presented Pride Catering with the prestigious award at a ceremony held at Central Hall Westminster.
The Food for Life Catering Mark rewards caterers who demonstrate the use of fresh, seasonal, local and organic ingredients, as well as high welfare meat and sustainable fish. Deborah Kenny – Operations Manager and Caroline Ventour-Robinson – Chef Manager are truly passionate about serving tasty nutritional lunches using ethical, traceable quality ingredients. For example; all the beef is organic out-door reared in herb-rich meadow pasture in Petersfield, Hampshire. Milk, fruit and vegetables are all organic too, and the pupils have a choice of main course. The vegetarian choice is growing in popularity, with options like Roasted Mediterranean Vegetable Couscous and Quorn Vegetable Cottage Pie with Sweet Potato Topping.
Katrina Kollegaeva from the Food for Life Partnership/ Soil Association commented that they are ‘thrilled to have a Caterer in London who has shown that Gold is possible!’
And Elizabeth Stubbs - Headteacher of St. Stephen’s School advised that they are ‘delighted that Pride has been awarded Gold Catering Mark – it is thoroughly deserved. Both children and staff really enjoy our excellent school meals!’
